The Ascot Kitchen
When our clients bought their new house the first thing they wanted to do was to move the existing kitchen as it was too small. Being Italian, cooking and entertaining with family and friends is of paramount importance, and so they built a large extension to house their new kitchen with a spectacular island lit with three chandeliers as the central feature. They wanted a contemporary look to the kitchen design, so a grey stained oak was chosen for the main run of cupboards. The two large double larder cupboards are inlaid with a special design in brass adding exquisite detailing to the wood. In between the tall cupboards the wall cupboards are made from liquid metal in pewter with a shagreen textured finish, adding to the wow factor in this kitchen. As a contrast the oak on the island cupboards was painted in white, allowing the grain to shine through, and topped with a calacatta quartz worktop in a waterfall pattern, further showcasing the sleek and contemporary design aesthetic. However first and foremost this kitchen had to work practically for our clients, so the kitchen is full of pull out storage space, a large breakfast cupboard and a bank of ovens, fridge freezers and wine coolers to accommodate the needs of a large family.
Huge slabs of marble were chosen for the floor as a final touch to this fabulous open plan kitchen where practicality and glamour go hand in hand.
