The Bermondsey Kitchen
Our client downsized from a large house in the country to a Victorian townhouse in Central London, so storage space in the kitchen was a big requirement. She also loved Ledbury Studio’s aged and patinated copper finish, and wanted to incorporate this into the design. Black stained oak cabinets were chosen as a foil to set off the beautiful copper centrepieces, and echoed in the specially cast handles in aged and distressed brass. Sliding copper doors break up the bank of tall cupboards on the back wall, revealing open shelves backed with Latina antique glass which is back lit with led lighting.

Our client has a big family and loves to entertain, so a large island with space for 6 stools was a requirement. The island is given drama with a waterfall worktop in Tiffany Blue Amazonite Quartzite, providing a practical worktop with plenty of wow factor!
In the dining area of the kitchen, the double larder doors are clad in patinated copper as a centrepiece, and flanked with open shelves painted in Vardo by Farrow and Ball, to display our client’s decorative pieces. Our client’s brief was fulfilled…she has a glamorous and contemporary kitchen without compromising on storage space, job done!
