Our Marquetry kitchens are a contemporary take on traditional artisanal skills. Directional crosslaid veneers are applied by hand in an intricate marquetry design, accented with liquid metal bronze inlays on the doors and custom-designed bronze bar handles. Adding texture and contrast to the fine craftsmanship of the marquetry panels on the tall housing, the island is clad in spectacular solid brass. The brass been distressed by hand, aged and patinated to create this distinctive effect. Large pocket doors surrounding the appliances and larder cupboard allow the working areas of the kitchen to be accessed when needed and hidden when not in use. This is particularly useful in an open-plan space, such as this, which is used for living, dining and cooking. The sink is made from practical Calacatta Oro porcelain, which has also been used for the worktops and wall panel behind the sink.
