The Canary Wharf Kitchen
This stunning penthouse apartment on the 23rd floor overlooking the Thames lends itself to open plan living, with far reaching views through a space lined with floor to ceiling glazing. The brief was to create a contemporary kitchen with wow factor, leading on to the dining and sitting areas, perfect for entertaining friends or cosy suppers for two. Dark stained oak cabinets were used, but given a bit of theatre with inlaid aged brass recessed handles and kicker to match. But the wow factor is really dialled up with the beautiful bookmatched Fior di Bosco marble worktop, set in a waterfall pattern on the worktop and down the sides of the island. The back of the breakfast bar is lined with a panel of our signature choppy water carved oak in grey tones to further make this island stand out. Antiqued mirror on the splashback and lighting in the cupboards completes the look.

Our client also wanted to maximise the space in his master bedroom with bespoke bedroom cupboards and a dressing room in dark stained oak cabinetry with tall glazed sliding doors which open to reveal bespoke storage solutions to maximise the space. Smoked glass was used on the doors and sepia bronzed mirror with dark oak surround is used to clad a pillar and the back wall of the dressing room, creating the illusion of space. A special area lined with calacatta oro marble was designed to house our client's watch collection, and a cupboard specially tailored to accommodate the client’s air dresser.
Finally in the bathroom we designed a mirrored vanity unit with lighting, recessed storage and shelf below, and a vanity cupboard below the basin , all in pale oak with slate surfaces. All this alongside glorious views of the Thames from the shower, bath or reflected in the vanity mirror!
