The Bruton Kitchen
When our clients completely renovated their house , their top priority was creating an open plan kitchen dining room for all the family to cook, eat and live in. They wanted a neutral palette for the most part, so Charlie chose painted cabinets with a single panel design in Ash White, but included some distinctive features to add the wow factor. Elements of metal were added with aged brass handles and kickplates, and delicate brass rails to the spice rack and book case complete the metal detailing. The central island cupboards were designed in a reeded pattern as a feature in the centre of the room, and stunning Diamond Quartzite on the worktops and splashbacks pull all the elements of the kitchen together. To create contrast to the cool elegant tones of the kitchen, the coffee making station and tall refrigeration cupboards were clad in patinated zinc made from sheets of zinc which were then aged and patinated, to create a look and texture only achievable with real metal rather than liquid. A walk in pantry , was a must for our client and handy for all the family’s food storage, and as our client is a keen cook, a large floor to ceiling book rack was designed framed in marble. Our client says “The kitchen is my favourite room in the house”, and with its sophisticated tones and understated elegance it is very much a room for all the family to enjoy.
